Every year, new cars are released to the public. However, there are some that stand out from the rest. These cars usually have a certain feature or design that makes them special. In 2022 we will see many SUVs. Here are top five SUVs that you need to know about for 2022
Mercedes-Benz GLS.
The Mercedes-Benz GLS is a full-size luxury SUV that comes in two different versions: the GLS450 and the GLS550. The former comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 engine; the latter, a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. If you’re looking for an SUV that can tow up to 7,700 pounds (3 tons), this vehicle has you covered!

Land Rover Defender.
The Defender is a British 4×4 off-road vehicle that has been in production since 1948 and was discontinued from 2016 to 2019. It will be replaced by the Discovery Sport in 2019, but you can still buy one until 2022. In 2022, it will be available with both short wheelbase and long wheelbase models as well as soft tops or hard tops.
Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo.
The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is a new SUV from the German automaker that’s set to go on sale in the U.S. market in 2022. It’s based on the electric sedan of the same name, so it will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain and an all-electric range of about 100 miles. The Taycan Cross Turismo will be offered with a gasoline-powered turbocharged inline-four engine combined with two electric motors, which should give it plenty of pep off the line (and also make it sound pretty good).
The crossover SUV was unveiled at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show along with its sedan counterpart and concept car called Mission E Cross Turismo; both were designed to emphasize Porsche’s commitment to electrification as part of its “Roadmap E” strategy for introducing EVs into its lineup over the next decade or so.
Ford F-150 EV.
Ford is the only car manufacturer that offers a full line of electric vehicles (EVs), and they’re not just one model like you might expect. They’ve got the Ford F-150 EV, which is a mid-size crossover SUV with a range of 300 miles and 0-60 time of 7.5 seconds; the Edge ST, which is a performance version of their popular Edge SUV; and finally, there’s also an all-electric SUV called the Ford Nevin.
Although these cars look similar to their gas/diesel counterparts, there are some big differences: The F-150 EV has an estimated range between 240–300 miles on a single charge (depending on driving conditions), while its bigger brother can go up to 380 miles on one charge! The other two EVs have smaller ranges because they’re micro hatchbacks rather than traditional SUVs or crossovers. All three models come standard with four seats but can optionally add two extra seats in back for children or friends who want to tag along for fun adventures!
BMW iX.
If you want a luxury SUV that can also be fun to drive, the BMW iX is an excellent choice. It’s available in two engine options—a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder—and three trim levels: standard ($56,000), xDrive40i ($63,000), and xDrive50i ($72,000). You can also buy it as either a four-door or five-door body style (the latter being more expensive).

The iX has earned the highest possible safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA): 5 stars overall; 5 stars in every subcategory except rollover resistance where it earned 4 stars. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) hasn’t tested any models yet but expects them to perform well based on their size class comparison with other SUVs. The United States currently sells these vehicles only within its borders while Canada offers them in select provinces such as Ontario and Quebec; they’re also available in Dubai via BMW’s dealership there called Al Zamil Motors
Audi Q4 E-Tron.
It’s finally here, the first electric SUV from Audi.
The Audi Q4 E-Tron is a crossover that will rival the BMW iX and Mercedes EQC, but it will be built on the same platform as the Q4. It has two electric motors and a 90 kWh battery for a total range of about 310 miles per charge (500 km).
According to Audi, “The large battery combined with its efficient powertrain delivers an expected range of more than 500 kilometers.” The vehicle can charge up to 80 percent capacity within just 30 minutes using CCS Combo or 150 kW DC fast charging systems.

Volkswagen ID Buzz.
Volkswagen’s new ID Buzz is the electric version of its iconic VW Bus. The vehicle is a fully electric crossover SUV and was recently unveiled at CES in Las Vegas as part of Volkswagen’s “ID” lineup of electric vehicles that will be hitting showrooms in 2022.
The ID Buzz is expected to have a range of 400 miles per charge, which should make it one of the longest-range EVs on the market when it goes on sale. The vehicle has an advanced autonomous driving system that allows you to take your hands off the wheel and feet off pedals while cruising down the road!
